Assignment Statuses for Teachers

After an assignment is made, teachers can search for assignments by assignment status. This is a quick guide to those statuses.

Assignment Status

  • Not Started: Not started indicates that at least 1 student has not accessed the assignment
  • Started: Started indicates that the assignment has been opened  but has not been submitted.
  • Needs Manual Grading: Needs manual grading indicates that the assignment has non-auto graded components and grading has not been completed. Needs manual grading also includes assignments that are closed but were not submitted by at least 1 student.
  • Graded: Graded indicates that students have submitted and submissions have been graded. In order for data to go to reports, the assignment status must be set to graded. It is a good idea for teachers to check the assignment status after an assignment has been completed by all students and graded.

  • Started: Started signifies that the student has opened the assignment.
  • Not Started: Not started signifies that the student has not opened the assignment.
  • Submitted: Signifies that the student has submitted the assignment.
